Shift Boot Installation Instructions

1. Remove the original trim and boot

Start by removing your existing trim. You can do this by carefully pulling up on the boot or using a plastic trim removal tool to pry it up from the front.

2. Separate the old boot from the trim

Once removed, detach the old boot from the plastic trim. It is usually glued on and held in place by the trim’s plastic posts.

3. Install the new boot onto the trim

Our boot comes with the mounting holes pre-cut. Wrap the new boot around the trim and align the holes with the posts. *For best fitment and long-term durability, we recommend securing the material using either thin double-sided tape or upholstery adhesive. Double-sided tape is included with your order for easy installation. Upholstery glue may also be used if you prefer a more permanent solution.

4. Secure the boot to the shift knob

Once the new boot is installed, turn it inside out to expose the underside. Insert the shift knob through the opening and secure the boot to the knob using the included zip tie. After tightening the zip tie, trim the excess material and flip the boot back to its normal position.

5. Reinstall the trim

Once the boot is secured to the trim, simply snap the trim back into the car and mount the shift knob.

Tips

  • You can use thin double-sided tape or upholstery glue on the underside of the boot to keep the material perfectly positioned. While it won’t move once installed, this step ensures the best possible fit and finish.

  • Take your time aligning the material before securing it for the cleanest result.
